The name Poplar House is derived from the distinctive feature of the solid Poplar wood beams that were used to construct the ceilings.

Poplar House offers guests large open living areas and spacious bedrooms.
Downstairs is a huge fireplace for those cold winter days where guests can relax and catch up over a lovely glass of wine and good conversation.
The living area leads to a large undercover patio with braai where guests can “kuier” to their hearts content.
The property has a leiwater dam in the backyard that is closed off with a safety net.

Poplar is primarily our family getaway in the countryside and we love it dearly. While we clean and prepare for guests, we are not a 5 star daily serviced hotel – just honest wholesome country living in a family home. Sometimes it rains and storms and the wind blows leaves in, horses and cows and spiders may visit, loadshedding happens and the mountain water does stain a bit but eventually the sun does come out and the birds sing. It’s the countryside with untarred roads, so rather give us a miss if you need perfection in order to relax ok?
